Feelings 🎭

Some say that you can control your feelings, some say that you can’t control your feelings some say that feelings are all in your head or just a part of your imagination. But one thing I’ve learning though experience about feelings is that feelings are definitely REAL. I mean, I have tried so very hard to hide my feelings, I have tried so very hard to cover up my feelings, and I have tried very hard to ignore my feelings but what it all boils down to is that they are real so you can’t just ignore them, you can’t just wipe them away from your mind or body in hopes they will go away. Truth is feelings do exist and they can come out at any point in time.

For me I know that I cannot hide my feelings because eventually it all balls up inside me and keeps building and building under my thin surface of skin and emotions and then just one particular day moment when I’ve had enough, they explode and come out like a volcano irruption. Spewing out in hot lava. I don’t care who’s in the mist of it. But, they’re just going to get hurt by what I’m saying because that whole time I’ve been harboring all those feelings and emotions inside me and I have to let them out eventually.

Bottom line is don’t ignore your feelings, don’t bottle up your feelings, don’t try to cover up your feelings. Let your feelings out but in a subtle manner. I’ve heard journaling is good to get your feelings out. You can write a letter but don’t mail the letter, you can type it in email but don’t send the email, type a text but don’t send a text. Whatever you need to get your feelings out but hit delete, cancel or tear it up. Go for a walk to get some fresh air. Find someone to talk to. If you can’t talk to a friend, maybe there’s a family who will listen to you. Sometimes you just need to vent. If you don’t have a family member perhaps there’s a pastor or support group that will be there for your. Whoever it may be make sure it’s someone you can trust and who will listen to how you feel so you can release the pressure inside you. Sometimes people have to take medication for feelings that they cannot control. Lexapro, Wellbutrin or Celaxa are good prescription meds. St. John’s Wort can help or even vitamins such as B-6 or B12. Calcium is good if you have a hormonal imbalance. Research and talk to your doctor about uncontrollable feelings. Aromatherapy is another good thing to use. There is all types of help available! Take care of yourselves and know that God is rooting for you 😊

  1. Enjoyed reading this. Yoga and exercise also helps with dealing with emotions. I have heard that sweating out that anger or stress is great for the body and soul. Yes, we must take care of ourselves, its all about finding that path to serenity and tranquility. Thank you for sharing!
